postal services. Practically speaking, you have to go to Post office,
fill out a form with details about the beneficiary. Then pay the amount
of the IPMO plus fees. It takes more than one week to get it from your
country to Japan. In some countries there are different IPMO for
domestic orders and international orders, and sometimes even different
ones for different countries. Make sure it is cashable in Japan.
IPMO fees are to be paid by you. On the other hand, Nippon-Export will
make a 5 % discount on your order shipping costs, and from 1% to 5 % on
goods amount (depending what product it is).
Advantages :
you don't need a credit card.
you pay in your currency.
Disadvantages :
you have to pay fees.
you need to go to Post office (and queue).
payment takes time to arrive in Japan (your order will be handled only
when payment is received).
(USA customers only: You'll find here an example of IPMO to Japan. It has to look like this, otherwise it's not an IPMO cashable in Japan.)
German customers: please note IPMO is called "Auslandsanweisung/-zahlkarte" in Germany and is done from Post office.
